Care and Cleaning Guidelines
See our “Care Guidlines” for more information on how to care for your furniture.
Drawer Construction
What is the drawer construction of Simply Amish drawers?
All case pieces have the drawer box contructed out of either solid oak (oak, quartersawn, hickory case pieces)
or solid maple (cherry, maple, soft maple, walnut case pieces) in five part construction.
All drawers are English dovetail front and back. All drawers are finished inside and outside to prevent delicate
fabrics from catching.
All drawer fronts 8" and less in height are crafted out of a solid piece of wood (no laminating).
Cedar drawers and Cedar bottoms are options.
Drawer Slides
What type of drawer slides does Simply Amish use?
Exceptional drawers require exceptional hardware. That's why our drawers feature heavy-duty slides that
are fully enclosed and mounted from below., combining years of quiet, reliable operation with an unobstructed
view of their solid dovetail construction. SmartSlides, which are standard on all our drawers, fully extend for
maximum access and feature an advanced mechanism that prevents slamming by self-closing each drawer inches
from the cabinet.
Table Slides
What type of glide is found on Simply Amish tables?
Pedestal/trestle tables come standard with an equalizing geared slide that keeps the base in the center of the table and
these are designed with a slight reversed bow to keep the ends of the table from sagging. Some play is normal
at the end of the tables when extended.
Leg tables come standard with heavy duty wood slides (not geared). These are designed with a slight bow to keep
the table straight in the center when leaves are added.
Ball-bearing slides, which are standard on all island tables are optional for all tables that open in the center.
